In 2010, Mark received a residency in Berlin. A collaborative project between DAM STHULTRAGER Gallery and ROCKELMANN Gallery named the Rockelman Sthultrager Project, created a joint residency program and gallery in Kreuzberg, Berlin. During this month long residency, Mark built BERLIN FLIEGENFALLE (Berlin Flytrap). In this sculpture, the viewer is encouraged to use a foot air pump to inflate a tire. As the tire inflates, the arms are forced open. A slow leak in the tire allows the arms to return to a closed position. The viewer then experiences the release of tension along with the work.
