SPIRAL GALAXY

Ash, Carbon Fiber,Electronics and a Photovoltaic Power System, Water. 8'wx7'hx1'd   2013

SPIRAL GALAXY  is a solar kinetic sculpture that explores time mechanisms and their force in nature. This sculpture’s spiral arms open and close in a continues cycle.  SPIRAL GALAXY uses photovoltaic cells to power a water pump. When activated, this pump distributes water to a higher location. SPIRAL GALAXY uses the distribution, syphoning, and the weight of water to achieve its movement. Cycle speed is dependent on the amount of light the sculpture receives in any given environment.
